This adult male gorilla was sadly pondering his life at the Calgary Zoo. The photo was taken at 25mm as the gorilla was behind a glass enclosure that is barely visible on the photo.

91/365: Waterfall

Waterfall with the briday veil effect. However, even at 6 seconds exposure, I couldn’t achieve the effect I wanted. But nevertheless, it is still a cool picture taken inside the Citadel Theatre.
89/365: Cactus?

Yes, cactus in Alberta in deep fall. The garden at the Citadel Theatre has a unique collection of plant life worthy of checking out.
88/365: Citadel garden

The weather was beautiful in outside today, nice for an Edmonton October weather anyway. I am still quite pleased *and knocking-on-wood* that there is no permanent snow on the ground. But the weather inside the Citadel was even nicer. Look at how green and beautiful these plants are inside the garden area of the Citadel. What a wonderful location for indoor wedding photography if the weather outside does not cooperate.
85/365: Withering lilies

These were the lilies we bought for Aunt Celine’s memorial. It lasted quite a long time, but I didn’t realize that the lilies had drank all the flowers. So most of the bloomers were withering before I caught it and added more water. It will surely last a few more days.
84/365: Green leaf

Fallen leaf on the back patio.
82/365: Autumn is here

Is this a sure sign that 2009 autumn is here?
Visiting the family farm.

Grasshoppers were everywhere on the road. As we were driving down the dirt road to the in-laws’ house, the critters were bouncing off the road and onto the windshield (we did not kill any as we were driving slowly). But it was funny to see a shower of grasshopper infestation. Then when we arrived at the farm, this little horsey greeted us with his infectious smile.
August 28 potpourri

Just some odds and ends from my walks from today.
Daisies

Today was another day of shooting with the 90mm macro lens. Immediately after work while Amanda was at the gym, I went to a construction area beside the mall where weeds were abundant. My hope was to capture a bug macro, which I was able to accomplish as can be seen by the first picture. There were many different kinds of bugs in the area, but very few of them stood still long enough to capture them.
