I love the look of gas station signs. So vibrant and usually very colorful. So I am on a mission to shoot as many gas station signs as I can. This one is down 109 street just past Jasper avenue.

For lunch this afternoon, I brought my camera with me since the skies were nice and blue. You can tell from the series of pictures how far I walked in 45 minutes. The walk started at Churchill Square across to the pyramid of Edmonton’s City Hall. Then a walk down 104 Avenue towards Grant MacEwan College turning south at 109 street. On the way back on Jasper Avenue, ‘apparently’ the sideway is closed by the new Rexall Place on 108th street. And finally back through the City Center East doors at the CBC radio station.
Today, I was practicing ‘Exposure To The Right’ technique where the photos are intentionally overexposed without blowing highlights and then recovering the exposure during post-processing.

How about another urban shot of another spiraling parkade in downtown Edmonton. But wait … this one is different because it is an ABANDONED parkade. Oh and might I add that the little white dot in the top middle of the frame is the moon. This shot was taken at around 7AM. *yawn*
Taken with my Tamron 17-50mm lens, nothing special was done here except making it black and white. Enjoy!
